Born in the city of Albany, New York in 1929, Jane Roberts was an American author. She was brought up in Saratoga Springs, New York. Her childhood was spent in miseries. Her parents divorced when she was two. She was nurtured in her maternal home for a few years. Her mother cursed her for bringing ill health and misfortune to her life. Abandoned by her parents, together with the feeling of not being safe, Roberts developed medical issues at the tender age of 10. She suffered from colitis and later developed hyperactive thyroid gland. She studied in Skidmore College from 1947 to 1950 on a poetry scholarship. She subtly managed work with writing. She wrote for Saratoga Newspaper and worked as Supervisor in a Radio Factory. Her genre of writing was vast and it   included:  poetry, short stories, children’s literature, nonfiction, science fiction and fantasy, and novels.

Her initial works were published in Newspapers and magazines including: ‘Prayer of a Wiser People’, ‘Nightmare’, ‘Time’, ‘Enigma’ and many more. What won her accolades was the book ‘Seth Speaks’. It was in 1963 that her life changed when she started receiving messages from a personality named ‘Seth’. After this she wrote several books on this experience.
