The first two books of the series were impressively written, but this one is slow and redundant in nature.

Following the same pattern as the earlier books, this book has the same tone. The book follows two brothers who come from tragic lives and now must fight to the brutal end. One of the brother’s face the test of time and must choose

The story is gripping. The part about the tragic events in the lives of the brothers is depicted properly in the book.
Don't Read it For:
The ending and the storyline of the book are disappointing and do not make sense.

The book is written in such a manner, that the reader becomes attached to the characters, which eventually leads to a massive heartbreak.

Shards of Hope

The story begins with Aden and Zairia waking up in a mysterious cell. The couple finds that their psychic abilities have been blocked. To survive, the duo breaks out of the prison only to find them in an uninhabited area. They are driven to survive, but how they do not know. Along with this, they need to defeat a mysterious enemy who is bound destroy everything Aden cares about.

Read it For:
The author of the phenomenal series keeps our thirst for more of these books alive after this book.
Don't Read it For:
The trauma faced by the characters in the past is a little too much for some readers to stomach.
What makes this book stand out?:
The character development of the character of Aden is impressive and makes you root for the character even more.

Burned

The seventh installment of the series is action packed with the more adventures. The story follows MacKayla Lane, who is far from home. And she must do anything and everything to save her home and the world from destruction. The region of Dublin has turned into a war-zone after a fae took upon itself to destroy the world.

Read it For:
Karen, the author, binds her previous stories into this book brilliantly.
Don't Read it For:
The story’s plot does not progress by too much. The plot for this installment is redundant.
What makes this book stand out?:
The impressive writing skills and the connection to some of her older books.

The Raven

The main character of the books works peacefully at restoring old renaissance period paintings at the Florence’s Uffizi gallery. One day a walk back home changes everything. She saves a homeless man from senseless beating changes everything.

The book is thrilling and keeps you on your toes.

The narration of the book is elusive.

The book is written mysteriously, progressing from one event to the other easily.

Although this book is one of the top book recommendations in the list, the pace of the book is languid.

The book has various events and incidents which are directly linked to the main plot for the story.

Eighth Grave After Dark

Davidson, the lead of the story is pregnant, and her father’s murder is still unsolved. New problems arise for her as twelve deadly prisoners escape, and she can only take refuge at one place.

The book is humorous as well as full of action and adventure.
Don't Read it For:
The main plot of the book dragged and did not add anything substantial.
What makes this book stand out?:
The book has many instances that warm the heart.

The Darkest Frost

The first in the series and one of the best book to read on this list, the book follows Denieve Knight, a psychic detective who is trying to help a girl who is seeing a ghost of her long-dead friend.

Read it For:
One of the best books to read if you are interested in paranormal activities and themes.
Don't Read it For:
For all those who do not like the paranormal feel, will not like this book.
What makes this book stand out?:
The book is impressive and is written on the theme of gothic-paranormal.

Dark Debt

The newest member of the American Association of Vampires, Merit, is overloaded with work. Trouble was the last thing on her mind, but she could not escape it forever. An old friend of Merit shows up, and she cannot refuse to help.

The book is just superb. The book has two different plots, which keeps the reader involved in the story.
Don't Read it For:
The book is your everyday vampire story, there is nothing you haven’t read before.
What makes this book stand out?:
The writing style and progression of stories and incidents is excellent.
