This book has varying themes of totalitarianism as well as shades of an authoritarian society, but apart from this the novel makes for an entertaining read from start to finish. It is also the last novel that Verne wrote and as such stands out as one of Jules Verne’s bestsellers.  The story revolves around the ability to travel by various means including the ability to travel at 150 mph and much more. This book like many of Verne’s books is decades ahead of its time and stands out as one of the best examples of Jules Verne at his creative best.
