this book definitely deserves its tag as one of the top books for women’s book club. The novel is more of a retelling of Alice’s growth as a chef in the 60’s America and she manages to retell her story to perfection. She brings to life each and every dish, with the surrounding backstory, which makes it all the more interesting to read. The 60’s America was an interesting epoch, full of revolutionary ideas and passion and she brings this out in nearly every page.
