The Grapes of Wrath

Set in the Great Depression of 1929, it follows the life of a family of sharecroppers. Dust Storms from the Dirty Thirties and the Dust Bowls drive the family from their land. The story follows the old style of their journey to the promised land of California and the distinction between the haves and the have-nots. It is one of the best John Steinbeck bestsellers as well and got him his Pulitzer.
